Central topics

Central topics of our research are currently:

  • Socio-cultural aspects of poverty-related infectious diseases, with a focus on tuberculosis, leprosy and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)

  • Adaptation to climate change and health, climate-related disasters

Our methodological expertise lies particularly in the area of qualitative research and includes the conception, evaluation, and implementation of complex interventions, the assessment of political strategies as well as the qualitative evaluation of pragmatic randomized controlled trials. As a cross-cutting topic, we address issues of diversity and intersectionality in global health research through capacity building and collaborations with the global south.
