Bremen Public Health and Nursing scientists campaign for Integrated Health Campus Bremen IGB

In a letter to the Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection and the Senator for Environment, Climate and Science, representatives of Department 11, the IPP and the SOCIUM speak out in favor of the continued existence of the IGB for network work

In the letter from Prof. Dr. Ingrid Darmann-Finck (Dean of Faculty 11), Prof. Dr. Gabriele Bolte, Prof. Dr. Birte Berger-Höger, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Schüz (Directorate of the IPP) and Prof. Dr. Heinz Rothgang (Department of Health, Care and Old Age Security SOCIUM), they plead for the continued existence of the IGB.
The Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP), the SOCIUM and the University of Bremen itself are network partners of the IGB. The undersigned have come to know the IGB as a constructive and integrating cooperation partner within the framework of this collaboration. They see great potential in the networking structures that have now been established in order to further develop and disseminate public health approaches and nursing care concepts with a view to the specifics in the state of Bremen. Effective networking and coordination require time and continuity. The undersigned therefore advocate maintaining the IGB and further developing the existing potential in a targeted manner by further expanding the network partnerships in the sense of Health in all Policies, e.g. in the areas of urban development, environment, education, social affairs, etc. The authors recommend that the further development of the IGB as part of the public health landscape in the federal state of Bremen should be designed as an implementation-oriented “bottom-up process” with the participation of all regional stakeholders and avoiding duplicate structures.
