As part of the Summer Academy 2023 of the University of Bremen, the workshop "Global Health - Meaning of Health Worldwide" took place in the Department of Global Health at IPP. Nine participants from 10th grade onwards independently researched global health topics over 4 days in June. Using methods such as literature research, questionnaires and interviews, they expanded their knowledge and documented their findings in individually designed magazines (zines). Topics ranged from the impact of WASH projects on malaria to gender data gaps and endometriosis. The workshop was rounded off with a guest presentation by Dr. Sahil Warsi (independent consultant to WHO, among others) and a short tour of the university. On the final day, all workshop groups proudly presented their projects to the participants of the entire Summer Academy. Engaged participants, exciting discussions and a motivating learning atmosphere characterized this week. We are looking forward to future workshops to teach students about the importance of (global) health.
