Prof Dr Ingrid Darmann-Finck elected Chairwoman of the Expert Commission at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in accordance with Section 53 of the Nursing Professions Act

Prof Dr Ingrid Darmann-Finck (IPP) was also appointed to the expert commission for the second legislative period by the Federal Minister of Health, Prof Dr Karl Lauterbach, and the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Lisa Paus.

In November 2024, the constituent meeting of the newly composed expert commission in accordance with Section 53 of the Nursing Professions Act (PflBG), whose term of office is five years, took place at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in Bonn.

After Ingrid Darmann-Finck held the position of deputy chair during the first legislative period, she has now been elected chair of the commission. "I am looking forward to working with the newly composed commission to first update the framework curricula and then - hopefully - to develop framework curricula for the nationally standardised nursing assistant training that will then be adopted."

The expert commission, which consists of eleven members, is a committee created at federal level in the Nursing Professions Act. Its task is to develop recommendations for the development of framework curricula and training plans based on the competences described in the Training and Examination Ordinance for the Nursing Professions (PflAPrV) and to update these every five years.

The framework plans of the expert commission have led to greater standardisation of nursing training at state level. In addition to the framework plans, the Expert Commission has also developed modules for the acquisition of extended curative competences.
