Dr. Raouf Alebshehy, PhD student advised by Prof. Melanie Böckmann (Department of Global Health at IPP Bremen) was honored with this year's World No Tobacco Day Award.

Through his research and advocacy, he has become a leading voice in the fight against tobacco use, focusing in particular on the manipulative tactics and interference of the tobacco industry in policy processes. In Wales in particular, his research has led to the provisions of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control being incorporated into the Smoke-Free Wales strategy.
