Image & Data Analysis

We research image analysis methods with a strong focus on robustness, effectiveness, and clinical usability. Segmentation of medical image data is one of our core competencies. Our goal is to derive the most useful analyses from existing patient data.

Modelling & Simulation

We develop mathematical models and simulations of biophysical and biomedical processes for clinical applications. We closely collaborate with other research fields to support diagnosis and therapy. Our patient-specific models allow us to predict and optimize therapy success.

Image Registration

Image registration is one of the key tools in medical image analysis. It allows for finding corresponding positions in image data from different time points and different image types (MRI, ultrasound, CT). We research both data-driven and classical registration methods for all image types.

Visualization and Interaction

Visualization and interaction concepts play a crucial role in the usability of image data and models for clinical users. We utilize current rendering techniques and explore new concepts such as virtual and augmented reality.
