With the start of the winter semester 2024/25, the department of law, including their library and cafeteria, as well as a few other institutes and service points is moving from the previously known location GW1 to the Domshof in Bremen's city centre. To be more precise, they are moving into the former building of the NordLB (Northern German State Bank, formerly Bremen State Bank), which is directly beside the town hall. In preparation, the building is currently being renovated. The opening ceremony is set to take place on 14. November.

With the start of the winter semester 2024/25, the department of law, including their library and cafeteria, is moving from GW1 into the former building of the NordLB (Norther German State Bank, formerly Bremen State Bank) to the Domshof in Bremen's city centre, right next to the town hall. Besides jurists, the centre for work and politics (ZAP), the institute for work and economics (iaw), as well as HERE AHEAD, the preparation program for international students, maintained by the colleges of Bremen, are relocating here. Currently the building is being renovated for this purpose and as the "Forum at Domshof", it will be the university's foothold in the city centre. The official opening ceremony will be held on November 14.

Earlier, at the start of the winter semester in October 2024, the students and lecturers will move into the "Forum at Domshof". That is also when the first year of the newly formed jurisprudential "Bachelor of Laws" will begin. Through a full-fledged jurisprudential education it is supposed to qualify for the first juridical examination and also allow for a direct entry into the job market or a (non-juridical) master's.

There will be multiple lecture rooms in differing sizes available across the storeys. Rooms ranging from seminar rooms for 30 people to lecture halls with ca. 135 seats enable various courses for around 1,500 students to be offered. Additionally, conference rooms, as well as a Mensa and the departmental library Juridicum of the state and university library of the federal state Bremen is to be found there. The former ticket hall will become a meeting place for students, staff and lecturers and also function as a point of contact to the public - for instance via events and exhibitions organised by the university of Bremen. The university hopes to create a closer exchange and dialogue with the non-academic society through the location in the city centre.
