Conference of the "Future of Care" cluster - experts and representatives of the professional world meet to exchange ideas on the latest developments and the status of digitalization/technological advances in the care and healthcare sector

Some members of the nursing care research team led by Prof. Karin Wolf-Ostermann took part in the 7th annual “Future of Nursing” cluster conference from March 11 to 12, 2025 in Berlin at the Virchow-Klinikum (CVK). Under the motto: “Shaping the future of care in a humane way - successful transfer and skills development”, experts and representatives of the professional world met to discuss the latest developments and the state of digitalization/technologization in the care and healthcare sector. As a joint transfer and innovation hub, the “Future of Care” cluster focuses on the overarching, comprehensive implementation of technological innovations and skills requirements. In keynote speeches, poster exhibitions, short paper sessions and workshops such as world cafés and future workshops, guests from science, politics, care practice as well as students and trainees came into conversation.

Research assistants Dominik Domhoff, Julia Misonow, Dr. Kathrin Seibert and Marcella Puhlemann as well as student assistant Meret Rupprecht were actively involved in workshops and gave presentations. Mr. Domhoff moderated the short paper session “Technological innovations in the context of outpatient, intersectoral care” together with Tobias Krahn in an excellent manner. Dominik Domhoff, Meret Rupprecht and Julia Misonow supported the successful implementation of the workshop “World Café: Opportunities and Challenges of Practice-Science Collaboration”.

Marcella Puhlemann gave an excellent introduction to the “Ethics, Society, Health Economics” session on “Digital Technologies in Formal Care: A Systematic Review of Effectiveness, Acceptance, Usability and Efficiency”.

Dr. Kathrin Seibert gave a confident presentation on “The Barcamp AI in Nursing: A workshop method for open multidisciplinary collaboration in nursing technology projects”, which was also well received by the audience.
