Prof. Dr. Geneuss studied law in Freiburg and Aberdeen (Scotland) and completed her legal internship at the Kammergericht Berlin. During this time she gained experience at the Foreign Office in the Department Transnational and International Criminal Law as well as at the Legal Advisory Service of the Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit in Peking (China).

Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Geneuss obtained a doctorate at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and completed a Master's Degree in International Legal Studies at the New York University School of Law.

Ini 2023, Frau Prof. Dr. Geneuss completed her habilitation at the Universität Hamburg and taught as Visiting Professor in Göttingen, Frankfurt (Oder), Potsdam, Konstanz and Berlin.  In October 2023, she was appointed as Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, International and European Criminal Law, Criminal Information Law and Comparative Law at the University of Bremen. A specific focus of her research lies on the prosecution of crimes under international law on the domestic level, in particular in Germany, as well as criminal information law.

We are convinced that our department will greatly profit from Prof. Dr. Geneuss' excellent teaching and outstanding research. We are looking forward to working together and wish her a good start at the Faculty of Law!
