• Technical aspects

  The device is a motorized microscope with a powder dry dispersion unit, which can disperse a powder sample on a glass plate.

  Pictures of the powder are taken and evaluated regarding particle size and particle morphology (several shape factors available).

  Shape analysis is possible for particles of 10 µm and more up to a few millimeters. We have developed additional Matlab scripts for enhanced analysis compared to what the device can do out-of-the-box. We also use the device to prepare powder samples for SEM by using the dry dispersion unit to disperse the powder on the sample carrier.
