The BIGSSS is an international graduate school, jointly run by the University of Bremen and the Jacobs University in Bremen. It is one of the leading graduate schools in Germany in empirical social sciences research.
Together with members of her team, Jutta Günther will engage in the BIGSSS activities especially in the context of the Mod-Block-GDR project. It deals with the long term socioeconomic effects of socialism and transition in East Germany, such as the impact on entrepreneurship behaviour until today and the long lasting effects of transition strategies on the structural weaknesses in East Germany. The affiliation also fits to the close cooperation with the Research Center for Eat European Studies, Professor Heiko Pleines who is a BIGSSS faculty member and Mod-Block-DDR project partner. The doctoral students Jarina Kühn, Mareike zum Felde, and Charlotta Cordes will work on their dissertation in close connection to the BIGSSS.
We thank the members of the BIGSSS, and we are looking forward to the future scientific cooperation!
