Virtual Building
The open virtual research and teaching building known as the CoAI Virtual Building (CoAI ViB) forms the heart of CoAI research.
We want to give people all over the world the opportunity to conduct research and learn together with us. In the spirit of the open science approach, we make our research data and software openly accessible and usable in the CoAI ViB so that all interested researchers around the world can work with it.
The video above takes us through the CoAI ViB to the so-called Apartment Lab, where we meet the digital twin of the PR2 robot.
The EASE Collaborative Research Center is using robots like PR2 to research robotics for everyday activities in order to improve people's everyday lives. The CoAI ViB makes it possible to carry out experiments with PR2 in the Apartment Lab from home on its digital twin, even without robot hardware.
This video shows a tour of the existing virtual laboratories at CoAI ViB. In the future, researchers and students from all over the world will be able to enter these labs digitally. Digital twin robots, control software, and experimental environments for home use, as well as virtual knowledge labs await them there.
The building is under construction and will continue to evolve steadily. For more information on the CoAI ViB and a first look at its floors, visit it on the CoAI JRC website.
