Prof. Mark Sedgwick von der Universität Aarhus, Dänemark, hält hier in Bremen einen Vortrag zum Thema Sufismus im Westen. Dies ist der Ankündigungstext:
"Sufism is now well established in the West as well as in the Muslim world, taking several forms, some more Universalist and some more Islamic. But although actual Western Sufi organizations are a modern development, no more than a century old, the idea of Sufism has been active in the religious consciousness of Europe since 1671, and Luther referred to Sufism with apparent approval in 1530. The ideas behind Sufism have been present in the West for even longer. In his lecture, Mark Sedgwick will trace the West's long engagement with Sufism, and ask what this tells us about relations between the West and Islam."
Der Vortrag findet am 18. Januar 2018 um 18 Uhr im SFG 2030 statt. Interessierte sind herzlich wilkommen!
