BCCMS - Bremen Center for Computational Materials Science

The Bremen Center for Computational Materials Science (BCCMS) is an interdisciplinary research center of the University of Bremen (UB) located between the natural sciences and engineering faculties. Researchers main focus is placed on computer-aided theoretical materials research, called "Computational Materials Science", in both fundamentally oriented as well as application-oriented topics.

With the use of methods that transcend scales, ranging from the quantum-mechanical-atomistic level via coarser approaches to continuum-theoretical description, questions concerning the structural design of complex materials in particular are worked on, in order to develop new functional components and materials in close cooperation with experimental institutes and industrial partners.
