The research group of Prof. Dreyer investigates fluid mechanical problems with respect to fluid behaviour in spacecraft. Several phases occur, thermodynamic aspects have to be considered, and the variable accelerations within spacecrafts play a major role. The work is carried out experimentally on the ground, in the drop tower, on parabolic flights, suborbital rocket missions and on the International Space Station (ISS), as well as with tools of numerical fluid mechanics.
