Field of Specialisation „Climate – Environment – Oceans“ at the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig

On 12 June 2024, the Field of Specialisation „Climate – Environment – Oceans“ visited the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig.

At the invitation of the presiding judge of the 11th Senate, Prof. Dr. Christoph Külpmann, the students attended the hearing on the action brought by two Hessian municipalities against the planning permission of the extra-high voltage line Ultranet (11 A 13/23). The alleged infringement of municipal planning autonomy, the unlawful use of their property under civil law as well as the deficient examination of the proposed alternatives were rejected. An impressive tour of the Reichsgericht building where the Federal Administrative Court is situated rounded off the visit.
