YUFE Law Conference in Toruń

5th YUFE Law Conference at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń

On 15/16 May 2024, the 5th Law Conference of the European university alliance YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe) took place at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń/Poland. The academic part of the conference, entitled “Law, Society, Democracy”, was concerned with the present challenges to democracy in the form of populism and digitalisation. Prof. Dr. Lars Viellechner represented the Faculty of Law of the University of Bremen at the conference with a lecture on “The Notion of the Public in Digital Society”. The operative part of the conference was concerned with intensified cooperation in the fields of research and education. The Faculty of Law has already established the English language field of specialisation “Transnational Law” to enable reciprocal recognition of academic achievements.
