Bachelor's Courses

At the end of the semester, students will have knowledge of what psychology is, how this discipline came into being as a science, what it deals with and which methods are used in psychology for research purposes. The aim is to acquire basic knowledge of various subject areas within psychology, such as differential, biological or social psychology. Students should be able to understand the relevance of psychology in economics.

The students acquire basic knowledge about strategic personnel management in Germany and about further topics. In particular, they will learn about hiring and retention as well as about commitment and development, remuneration and success of personnel. The evaluation of options for action with regard to the applicability of the topics in companies is a further focus here.

The aim of the empirical internship is to prepare students for the requirements of data collection in basic and applied research in economics and business psychology. The entire process of good scientific empirical work is illustrated and practiced. Students should be enabled to independently carry out all processes associated with empirical data collection and analysis within a time schedule. These skills are acquired with the aim of realizing, understanding and communicating data collection and analysis in scientific, but above all in professional fields of activity. This module extends over two semesters and starts in the 3rd semester. The statistics program R is used.

This module aims to provide students with a profound understanding of the topic "Automation in the world of work", including the effects of using Artificial Intelligence (AI), from the perspective of (Business) Psychology. This includes acquiring knowledge about automation trends, the psychological impacts on the human role in the workplace, and the design of human-centered work in collaboration with technology. Additionally, students will be empowered to apply and convey this knowledge in the form of creating explanatory videos, seminar units, and interviews with experts.
