General Information

Students from all over the world who are not part of our partner programs are also invited to apply for a stay at the University of Bremen and attend courses at the Department of Economics.

An application is made via the headquarters of the University of Bremen. There you will also find all other important information.

In addition to the required documents, please send us the following documents by 30th November for the summer semester in the following year or until 31st May for the following winter semester (Attention: these are deadlines set by the faculty and must be observed! - These deadlines differ from those of the central International Office):

• curriculum vitae
• current university transcript
• first draft of a planned course list (please use Form Learning Agreement)

After submitting your documents to the Office for International Affairs you will be notified by e-mail whether you will be accepted or not. In the case of acceptance, you will receive a separate letter that you accept as a Free Mover, which is an essential document for your official application ("Confirmation of the Department of the University of Bremen, which they will be part of the guest study").

General information on studying and living in Bremen can be found on the pages of the central International Office of the University. Here, too, you will find information about our offers for visiting students whose group you also belong to.

At the beginning of each semester, visiting students are invited to a welcome event hosted by the Office for International Affairs and the faculty, usually during the orientation weeks. This event is very important because all important information about studying in Bremen is communicated here.

During the three orientation weeks, the central International Office offers a variety of interesting events to get to know the university, campus life and the city of Bremen. There is also the option to participate in a intensive German lannguage course. Registration for the orientation weeks is not necessary, the German Intensive Course is organized by the Goethe Institute and requires prior registration. The attendance at these introductory weeks is advised, as the entry into the study in Bremen is made considerably easier. The program for this is available via this link.
