29 student teams of 15 German universities competed against each other, among them three teams of the University Bremen supervised by Professor Dr. Sebastian Kolbe and Klintis Gakovi.
The students were set the task of representing fictitious litigants with conflicting interests in court in a given case with legal problems arising in the context of possible mass redundancies on the basis of a balancing of interests. The teams had to prepare a procedural document and exchange their arguments in a hearing before a jury of Federal Labour Court judges.
All participants distinguished themselves by thorough preparation, strong performance before the federal judges and their remarkable development over the course of the competition.
Our special thanks go to Dr. Volker Stelljes as well as Dr. Amel Sarić and Sarah Klose for their professional support and valuable advice in the preparation. We would also like to thank LOYFORT lawyers for the financial support.
