BIMAQ - Bremen Institute for Measurement Technology, Automation and Quality Science

The Bremen Institute of Metrology, Automation and Quality Science (BIMAQ) is an engineering research institute at the Faculty of Production Engineering at the University of Bremen. It was founded in 2007 through the merger of two former research institutes. The location of the institute on the university campus and in the Technology Park also reflects the scope of its activities.

Committed to transfer, BIMAQ scientists work, both, in fundamental research and in application-oriented projects: from the development of new production or measurement methods to the optimization of production processes or the development of prototypes. In doing so, they cooperate with research institutions and companies all over the world.

BIMAQ has about 40 employees. They work in national research and industrial projects, are involved in major EU projects and are further significantly involved in a Bremen Collaborative Research Centre of the German Research Foundation. Core competence of the BIMAQ is measurement technology, with additional focal points in the fields of automation and quality science as well as energy systems.
