JupyterHub Brief introduction

The University of Bremen enables all members to use the open source software Jupyter via its own hub. Until June, 30-minute short presentations will take place to get to know Jupyter.

It is very easy to register with your university account:

jupyter.uni-bremen.de

Many lecturers are already familiar with Jupyter, as the software not only offers a low-threshold introduction to programming with Python, R or Java, for example, but is also ideal for getting started with data analysis and statistics. Web-based and therefore independent of the technical requirements and prior knowledge of the students, the tool can be used in teaching.

At the University of Bremen, it is also possible to link courses in Stud.IP with an individually designed profile on the JupyterHub. Only the participants of the course have access to these profiles. The profiles can be customized according to teaching requirements by specifying the programming language(s), pre-installing libraries and packages and uploading teaching materials.

Students can also use Jupyter independently of teaching events. Three standard profiles in the programming languages Python, R and Java have been created for this purpose and are available to try out.

In the 30-minute online sessions, we would like to offer teachers and students an additional opportunity to get to know Jupyter, ask questions or exchange ideas about the tool.

The next event will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. in Zoom, the access data will be sent out one day before the event begins.
Please register on this page (under News) by April 11, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
