Universities to Work More Closely Together on Digitization

Universities from 12 German federal states want to work together on digitalization across state borders. To this end, 15 state coordinators have signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the aim of forming a network for the exchange of knowledge and information.

The “Cooperation of State Coordinators for the Digitization of Support Processes at Universities (KoLa)” aims to support the sharing of experience and improve access to relevant stakeholders and resources. It also aims to jointly identify fields of action for services in all areas – digital teaching and studies, research, and administration. This will enable universities tackle the challenges of digitization together with limited resources.

University cooperation on the digitization of support processes already has a long tradition in individual federal states. Due to the complex challenges of digitization, limited resources, and a high need for transformation, more and more federal states are trying to benefit from each other by working more closely together.
