Terms and Conditions

"Christmas Dinner" Competition on Instagram on 13.12.2023

  1. The competition is organized by the Student Services Organisation Bremen and the University of Bremen. All questions, comments, and complaints regarding the photo competition should be directed to the University of Bremen (socialmediaprotect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de).
     
  2. By entering the competition, participants expressly agree to these terms and conditions.
     
  3. To be eligible, participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entering the competition. Employees of the Student Services Organisation Bremen and the Administrative Unit 03: University Communication and Marketing of the University of Bremen are excluded from participation. The entrant is the person who owns the email address or Instagram account from which the entry photograph was sent.
     
  4. To take part in the competition, a photo of a decorated table at the Christmas dinner in the Mensa cafeteria on December 13, 2023 must be sent to socialmedia@uni-bremen.de as a direct message to the Instagram account "University of Bremen" (@uni_bremen ) by 11:59 p.m. Each participant will only enter the prize draw once, regardless of the number of photos uploaded.
     
  5. By uploading the photo, each participant declares that he/she* holds all rights to the uploaded photo and agrees to the publication of the photo(s). In addition, the Student Services Organisation Bremen and the University of Bremen are licensed the rights to edit (in particular electronic image processing for online use), copy, digitally reproduce, and the right to transfer these rights to third parties. The license is granted free of charge.
     
  6. The participants give their explicit permission for the University of Bremen to publish the photos of the photo competition on the "University of Bremen" Instagram channel, mentioning the first name of the participant. This permission can be revoked at any time by writing to the University of Bremen at socialmediaprotect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de. Participation in the photo competition will not be affected if a participant revokes their permission to publish their name.
     
  7. Each entrant warrants that no third-party rights are infringed by the publication of his/her* photos on Instagram. This includes, in particular, third-party rights and personal rights of photographed persons. The entrant indemnifies the Student Services Organisation Bremen and the University of Bremen against claims by third parties arising from the infringement of such rights and the costs of legal action.
     
  8. Entrants do not have a legal entitlement to participate in the competition and to have their submitted photos published.
     
  9. The competition starts on December 13, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. and ends on December 13, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. The closing date for entries is therefore December 13, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
     
  10. A jury will select the winner from all participants and notify them by email or Instagram direct message, depending on the channel of entry. If the winner does not respond to the prize notification within three days, the prize will be forfeited without substitution and a replacement winner will be selected in the same way.
     
  11. It is not possible to pay out the prize in cash or exchange it.
     
  12. The Student Services Organisation Bremen and the University of Bremen have the right to exclude participants from the photo competition who manipulate or attempt to manipulate the participation process or the photo competition or who violate these terms and conditions of participation. In particular, the University of Bremen reserves the right to delete obscene, defamatory, insulting, or slanderous photos or content immediately and to exclude entrants from the competition.
     
  13. The Student Services Organisation Bremen and the University of Bremen also reserve the right to cancel or terminate the photo competition without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances. This applies in particular if the photo competition cannot run as planned, for example in the event of software and/or hardware errors and/or for other technical and/or legal reasons that affect the regular and proper execution of the prize draw.
  1. The data submitted by the participants in this competition will be stored by the University of Bremen exclusively for the purpose of this competition, will not be passed on to third parties, and will be deleted after the end of the competition. Participants agree that their names may be published on the website www.stw-bremen.de and on the University of Bremen's social media channels (Instagram, Mastodon, LinkedIN) if they win.
     
  2. The promoters’ decision is final.
     
  3. The terms and conditions of participation are exclusively governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).
     
  4. The prizes awarded are:
