Prior to this position, she was an Associate Professor within the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto (2008-2021) and a William Rainey Harper Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago (2007-2008), where she also received her PhD. She is looking forward to expanding her current academic interests (political and economic anthropology, anthropologies of water, neoliberalism, global extractive regimes, infrastructure, and democracy) to include the maritime fields.
