FIT in Bremen

The Academy for Higher Education Access Development - HERE AHEAD is a unique cooperation between all public universities in the state of Bremen. It develops and implements programmes to prepare international applicants for university study. While their programmes are geared towards a range of audiences, language and subject-specific preparation for university remains a constant of their work. They offer counselling, preparation and orientation programmes and support for those arriving on campus and in the city.

The Career Center is a joint institution of the University of Bremen and the Bremen-Bremerhaven Employment Agency. Students preparing for the start of their career during their studies, graduates and research assistants on their way to a professional career can find support at the Career Center.

Finding a job can be a challenging task, no matter where you’re from. For people with an international background, however, job searching can present some additional challenges. The Career Center is here to help!

Kompass is a team at the International Office of the University of Bremen that facilitates international and intercultural projects. Their programmes and events bring international and local students together. They provide orientation, broaden horizons, sharpen the focus on what we have in common and build bridges to future careers. Friendly, inviting and open to all!

The Language Centre is responsible for language training at the public universities in the State of Bremen and offers integrated and interdisciplinary language training. This includes workshops on presenting and writing in German as well as language coaching for the targeted development of general and specialised language skills.

The Studierwerkstatt supports students in acquiring interdisciplinary tools to take them confidently through their studies - from introductory courses to the master's thesis. As a central institution of the university, it supports students with techniques and methods for academic work and writing, study organisation and exam preparation, learning at the university, communication, moderation and presentation, as well as peer-to-peer learning and collaborative work.
