Examinations and mandatory attendance are the items on the agenda of the 6th Semester Summit Meeting that will take place in building GW2, room B3009, on Wednesday 28.11.2012. The Rectorate is looking forward to an open exchange of opinions under the motto “Competence = Attendance + successful examination?”

What do university examinations actually prove? What form should such examinations take? Everyone has an idea about the skill-sets that should be acquired through a university education—but how can these competencies be accurately assessed? Do the present examination forms and their large number fit in with the goals of a university education? Members of faculty and the Rectorate as well as students will be able to voice their opinions on the heated debate surrounding the topic of “mandatory attendance in seminars”.
The Semester Summit provides all members of the University with the possibility to make a meaningful contribution towards shaping the content of studies.
