The faculty of Human and Health Sciences (Faculty 11) at the University of Bremen in Germany invites applications for a position in Sports Science in the research group Human Movement Science (led by Prof. Dr. Cornelia Frank):

salary 13 TV-L, (39,2 hours per week)
The position is fixed for 3 years, starting at the earliest possible date.
The employment is regulated by the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act, §2 (1) (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). Therefore, candidates may only be considered for appointment if they still have the respective qualification periods available in accordance with § 2 (1) WissZeitVG. (This usually applies only to candidates who have previously been employed at an institution in Germany.)
Job description
The Human Movement Science group focuses on change processes through imagery, observation, or execution in real, augmented, and virtual environments. Scientific methods for the analysis of motor cognition and new technologies are used in (quasi-)experimental procedures in the laboratory and also in applied fields to draw conclusions on aspects of motor control, motor learning, and motor development in humans. Specifically, we study human movement using 3D motion analysis, mobile eye tracking, and virtual reality. The position offers the opportunity to expand relevant methodological expertise and to independently develop and conduct research projects on these or related topics in collaboration with the head of the group. Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct your own research program within the research topics of the group (including independent conceptualization, implementation, and analysis of studies, presentation of results at conferences, publication of results in international journals).
- Participate in other scientific activities of the group (e.g. assisting with laboratory setup, contributing to publications, application for third-party funded projects)
- Teaching to the extent of 4 SWS (Semesterwochenstunden/ 4 hours per week) per semester with a focus on human movement science or related subjects
Requirements
- University degree (Master/Uni-Diploma) and completed PhD in a relevant field (e.g. sport science, psychology, cognitive science)
- Experience with or interest in the human movement science topics (e.g. motor cognition, imagery, VR, motor learning, and/or development) and methods (e.g. 3D motion analysis, eye tracking, VR) of the group (see http://cilia-lab.eu)
- Good methodological skills and experience with statistical programs (e.g. R or SPSS)
- Experience with or interest in programming virtual reality, experiments, and analyses (e.g. with Unity, Python/PsychoPy, or Matlab)
- Good command of English and German (or willingness to learn German)
- Independent, structured, responsible, and team-oriented work approach
