The summer semester concert season at the University of Bremen will start with a swing on 17th April. The first concert starts at 12.30 p.m. in the Theatersaaland features soprano Seren Akyolda? and pianist Gülru Ensari. The Theatersaalis just a few steps away from the street-car stop “Universität Zentralbereich”. After this, there will be free concerts open to the public every one or two weeks, taking place for about half an hour on Tuesday lunchtimes, and longer concerts on Thursday evenings at 8 p.m., as well as Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m. (tickets € 8, reduced € 5).
Other highlights of the season include concerts of folk and pop music in the series “Songs&Whispers” and tango programs featuring the “El Norte” trio and Juan María Solare. There will also be piano recitals and solar guitar concerts, including Ulrich Busch among others. Altogether some 22 concerts are planned to take place up to mid-July. And the summer semester will also see rehearsals by the university orchestra, the choir, the tango orchestra, and the university Big Band. Everyone is invited to attend and play along.
