Application for welcome money

150 euro welcome money for students

Requirements for applying for the welcome fee:

• You are properly enrolled (Bachelor / Master / Doctorate) at one of the universities in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen

AND

• You have newly registered your first residence in the state of Bremen from / after 01.01.2008 or you have not had your first residence in Bremen for the last twelve months.

AND

• You permanently retain your primary residence in Bremen; but at least for 12 months (counted from the date of filing).

(Maintaining the primary residence is always checked!)

Notes:

• Guest students cannot apply for welcome money when registering! However, if you still live in Bremen after 12 months from the date of your registration and continue to be enrolled, you can apply for the welcome money in retrospect!

• Foreign students must prove by their residence permit that after registration they stay for at least 12 months.

• People moving from Bremerhaven to Bremen cannot apply for welcome money. This change of residence counts as a move within the state of Bremen.

• The welcome money will only be transferred to a German bank account!
