The following position is to be filled at the earliest possible date for a fixed-term period of 3 years.

The time limit is set according to § 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, only applicants who still have qualification periods to the corresponding extent according to § 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG can be considered.


Job description

The working group at the chair for the Economics of Innovation and Structural Change, is dedicated to research in innovation and industrial economics with a special focus on questions of (i) sustainable development and the transition to a sustainable economy, (ii) the energy and mobility transition, and (iii) the study of innovation theories of harm in competition and competition policy.

Your tasks in the research team:

  • Independent, empirical-quantitative analyses in the field of sustainability research
  • Collaboration in research projects of the working group and publications of your own
  • Completion of a doctorate in one of the subject areas listed above
  • Collaboration in a third-party funded research project, in particular carrying out data analyses

  • Freedom to conduct independent research as part of a doctorate (usually cumulative)

Requirements

  • A university degree (usually a Master's degree, at least 300 CP) in economics, business administration or a related subject
  • Knowledge of microeconomics and econometrics
  • Ideally a thesis on topics studied at the chair for economics (sustainability, energy & mobility transition, innovation & competition)
  • Participation in teaching (max. 2 SWS), e.g. supervision of theses, exercise courses
  • Participation in research projects of the group
  • Support of the internationalization activities of the group and the faculty
  • Good knowledge of the English language, team orientation and scientific curiosity
