The Segnitz Prize for outstanding doctoral dissertations, endowed with 10,000 euros, went to Dr. Tjark Virkus, Dr. Eliza Stenzhorn, and Dr. Quynh Duong Phuong. Six outstanding master’s and bachelor’s graduates received the Wolfgang Ritter Studienpreis endowed with 4,000 euros. In addition, a special award from the Deutsche Bundesbank of 2,000 euros went to Dr. Gerrit Liedtke.
The award ceremony took place during the Faculty of Business Studies & Economic’s commencement ceremony that honored 357 graduates in caps and gowns – including 19 who completed doctoral degrees – from various fields such as Business Studies, Economics, Management and Electrical Engineering, as well as Business Psychology.
Irene Strebl, State Councilor for the Environment, Climate, and Science, delivered the commencement speech. The newly elected Dean of Faculty 07, Professor Maik Eisenbeiß, led the event this year for the first time. The evening’s musical accompaniment was provided by Nicolai Thein at the piano and Oliver Helmert at the saxophone.
