Continuing Education “Fundamentals of Social Science”
The continuing education program “Fundamentals of Social Science” is no longer offered. On this page, the subject-related connection for the higher education entrance qualification of the study programme, which is acquired with the completed continuing education programme, is explained.
In the field of the social sciences, the Zentrum für Arbeit und Politik (Center for Labor and Political Education) offers the continuing education program “Fundamentals of Social Science”. Candidates acquire a subject-specific university entrance qualification that entitles them to apply for undergraduate studies in the following subjects:
- Integrated European Studies
- Cultural Studies
- Philosophy
- Political Science
- Public Health
- Study in Religion
- Sociology
Further information can be found under the Center for Labor and Political Education.
The subject for which the subject-specific entrance qualification has been obtained can be studied as a single-subject or as a major with a complementary subject. If the subject for which the subject-specific entrance qualification has been acquired is only to be studied as a complementary subject, then a placement examination must be taken in the major. Exception: Unless the major is also included in the subject catalog of the certificate studies “Fundamentals of Social Science”.
After successful completion of the certificate course, enrollment for the first semester of the chosen study program (application deadline: July 15 of each year) can take place in any open-admission degree program. If admission in the required subjects is restricted, this is unfortunately not guaranteed.
After successful completion of the certificate course and provided that the other requirements specific to the study program are fulfilled, students can be enrolled at the University of Bremen.
