Faber is interested in how people make decisions in their social environment. After completing her PhD at the University of Göttingen, she moved to England in 2012 and worked at the universities of Oxford and Exeter. Nadira Faber works interdisciplinarily at the interface of experimental psychology and moral philosophy and her main research questions concern how people weigh their own interests against the interests of others, for example, when and why people behave altruistically and when they tend to prioritize self-interest. In this respect, not only basic psychological processes are examined, but also their application, for example in the context of sustainability in relation to the self-serving exploitation of natural resources.
