The Board of Trustees is currently made up of six members; the chairperson is Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor of Hamburg and President of the Authority of Academic Affairs, Research, Equal Opportunities, and Districts. The Board of Trustees counsels the Executive Board in the performance of its duties and monitors its management. Members of the Board of Trustees are appointed for three years.
The Academy of Science and Humanities in Hamburg is led by climate researcher Mojib Latif as President. The academy brings together top researchers from all areas of academia in northern Germany and is also an important source of inspiration for society. It consists of up to 80 full members as well as retired full members, honorary members, and associate members from Germany and abroad.
