“The Startup Monitor 2020 confirms the University of Bremen’s role as an activator in the field of startup support and the development of entrepreneurial networks through research, teaching, and transfer. In the future, our activities must aim to strengthen the university’s role as an important promoter of the Bremen innovation and startup landscape”, emphasizes Professor Jutta Günther, Vice President Research.
Great Interest in Startups Among Students
Students, researchers, staff, and other interested parties, including non-university parties, have access to a large number of events and other support formats at the University of Bremen in order to develop their startup ideas and projects: BRIDGE, future concepts bremen, the Chair in Small Business and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX), and UniTransfer.
“We welcome the innovative ideas and projects that institutes and teaching staff approach us with”, says Dr Martin Heinlein, managing director of BRIDGE and head of UniTransfer. Professor Jörg Freiling, LEMEX chair holder, adds: “There is also great interest in the topic of business startups and entrepreneurship among our students.” Potential founders, startups, organizations, and companies can contact the various university partners to find out more about the many different possibilities in the field of startup, innovation, and technology transfer.

future concepts bremen coordinates projects between organizations and companies on the one side and students of the universities in Bremen on the other side. The projects are supervised at LEMEX and supported by the Senator for Economic Affairs, Labour and Europe.
The Chair in Small Business and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX) held by Professor Jörg Freiling teaches in numerous courses relevant theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of business startup and entrepreneurship.
