Great Interest in Startups Among Students
Students, researchers, staff, and other interested parties, including non-university parties, have access to a large number of events and other support formats at the University of Bremen in order to develop their startup ideas and projects: BRIDGE, future concepts bremen, the Chair in Small Business and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX), and UniTransfer.
“We welcome the innovative ideas and projects that institutes and teaching staff approach us with”, says Dr Martin Heinlein, managing director of BRIDGE and head of UniTransfer. BRIDGE is the central point of contact for students and members of Bremen universities on the subject of business start-ups. The BRIDGE university initiative is a cooperation between the University of Bremen, the Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, Jacobs University, the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, and the Bremer Aufbau-Bank GmbH.

The Chair in Small Business and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX) held by Professor Jörg Freiling teaches in numerous courses relevant theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of business startup and entrepreneurship.
UniTransfer is the University of Bremen’s interface between academia, business, and society. The experts at the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office support cooperation and various projects across the entire range of the university’s disciplines. This includes business startups, the exploitation of inventions, or the placement of experts and high-level personnel as well as the coordination of school projects, the management of the University of Bremen Foundation, and university fundraising.
