In the Faculty of Business Studies & Economics, he has taken over the leadership of the "Digital Business, esp. Management of Digital Transformation" research area.
In his research, he is primarily concerned with the question of how people learn to deal with digital technology in such a way that they can further develop their routines in an innovative manner – in a business context and beyond. In addition to topics such as technology and organizational and task design, the focus is especially on individual learning and adaptation processes. Complementing this, Benjamin Müller investigates the issue of digital corporate responsibility, which is primarily concerned with the sustainable and responsible development and use of technology. These topics also shape his involvement in teaching business studies and information systems and management at the University of Bremen. Before coming to Bremen, Benjamin Müller worked in Lausanne (CH), Groningen (NL), and Mannheim
