Tropical Medicine: Public Health and IT Summer School

More than 35 participants from German, France, Italy, Thailand, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, and Zambia discussed the topic of IT and public health at a summer school at the University of Bremen.

The “Where IT meets Public Health” summer school promoted interdisciplinary cooperation and provided participants with knowledge on how to use information technologies to tackle global health challenges. A wide range of topics were discussed, including data analysis, telemedicine, disease monitoring, and strategies to improve access to healthcare with the help of technological innovations. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) sponsored the event, which was organized by the Network of Excellence in Advanced Information Technology for Tropical Medicine. This is a collaboration between the University of Bremen and Mahidol University in Thailand.

The workshop “The Network of Excellence in Advanced Information Technology for Tropical Medicine,” which focused on the same topic, was held at the university.
