The third OPEN CAMPUS is drawing closer. Starting at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday June 17, 2017, the University of Bremen will once again be inviting members of the public to come on to the campus and gain some insights into what it does. In 40 exhibition tents spread around the Campus Park and under the motto “OPENING WORLDS – SHARE KNOWLEDGE!”, the University Faculties, institutes and service providers will be organizing activities and offering information about their work. Representatives of the different Faculties will be on hand to offer advice to prospective students and on how to apply for admission to the University. Short presentations, science slams and guided tours provide many fascinating insights into some of the phenomena and questions as well as the research work occupying scholars and scientists at the Bremen University of Excellence. Visiting families will be pleased to know there is also a children’s campus. And there are workshops where boys and girls can examine fossil, learn about solving criminal cases, or even launching rockets.
Poetry Slam and “dance around the world”
University President, Bernd Scholz-Reiter, will officially open the event at 4.00 p.m. on the stage in the campus park. This is followed by a varied program in which the University’s international student communities play music and perform under the motto “Dance around the world”. A poetry slam with the slammer Filet as well as the highly popular chemistry and physics show round off the afternoon. Then, at 7.00 p.m., the open air party will begin on the stage. Main feature this time is the Hamburg rapper, Samy Deluxe.

OPEN CAMPUS would not be possible without the generous support of its sponsors. This year, our gratitude for ensuring that the festival in the Campus Park can take place goes to the Sparkasse Bremen, the AOK Bremen / Bremerhaven, the Bremen Economic Development Council, Lampe & Schwartze KG, Entsorgung Nord GmbH & Co. KG, Wall GmbH, as well as the Manfred and Ursula Fluß Foundation, the Wolfgang Ritter Foundation, the Stiftung Bremer Wertpapierbörse, the Alumni Association of the University of Bremen and the Foundation of the University of Bremen. The Weser-Kurier newspaper and Radio Bremen vier are once again the media partners of OPEN CAMPUS.
