International Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Students with the YUFE Alliance

If you are interested in gaining experience in entrepreneurship and working together with students from all over Europe, then the YUFE-Alliance entrepreneurship opportunities are just right for you! You will have the chance to apply for several different options in the next few months.

And these will not just allow you to develop business ideas, but to do so with other European students in YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe) – a higher education alliance with universities in ten countries.  All options are in English and you can have your participation certified. Reach out to your faculty’s student advisory service to determine whether this experience can give you credit points towards your degree.

Here is an overview of what we offer:

YUFE Challenge Teams

What do these entail?

From mid-November to mid-February, you will work with students from all over Europe to develop solutions to three current societal challenges: How can corporate leaders become more inclusive? How can technology be implemented to improve monitoring and evaluation in companies? And how can philanthropic behavior be promoted in Generation Z? Choose one of these topics to examine with the help of an academic mentor. You will also receive input on scientific methods, project design, design thinking methods, and agile problem-solving approaches, among other things. You will work together online and in English, and should plan for a workload of about 60 hours.

Who can participate?

Bachelor’s and master’s students in all degree programs.

When and how can I apply?

Please submit applications by November 5 via the YUFE Virtual Campus: https://virtualcampus.yufe.eu/p/courses/category/professional-training-activities

YUFE Ideas Lab

What do these entail?

Do you have a business idea, but have many questions about the implementation?  At the YUFE Ideas Lab, you can further refine your concept, discuss ideas with peers, get support from mentors and input on topics such as design thinking, preparing for pitches, or developing a business plan. The program will last about six months, from the end of January to mid-June. It will take place online, with a culmination week in June in Madrid, where you will meet with the other participants and pitch your idea to a jury. You should expect a total workload of roughly 75 hours, and can apply for financial support for the trip to Madrid through the Erasmus program.

Who can participate?

Bachelor’s students in all degree programs.

When and how can I apply?

Please submit applications by December 8 via the YUFE Virtual Campus: https://virtualcampus.yufe.eu/p/courses/category/professional-training-activities

YUFE Intrapreneurship Contest

What does this entail?

The YUFE Intrapreneurship Contest involves working on one of the YUFE Alliance’s real-life challenges. YUFE wants to build a network platform. The YUFE team is large and wide-ranging, with employees at ten universities across Europe. The goal is to create an interactive map that shows the connections between YUFE employees and their tasks in a clear and understandable way.

The competition has two phases. In the first five weeks, you will work alone on the conceptual design of a map, and have five minutes to present this to a jury. The jury will then select three map designs and for each design, a team will be formed. Each team will then have three to four months to implement their design.

Who can participate?

Students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, preferably from computer science, as well as university employees. Four people can participate per university; applications will be prioritized by the time of application.

When and how can I apply?

Please submit applications by November 11 via the YUFE Virtual Campus: virtualcampus.yufe.eu
