Study description

Material Culture: Textiles is offered as a cooperative degree programme by the University of Oldenburg. The subject can be studied as a complementary subject in the two-subject Bachelor's programme. The second subject (profile subject) is studied at the University of Bremen. Students are enrolled at both universities, but their data is only managed by the University of Bremen. Co-operative students are exempt from paying the tuition and administrative fees of the co-operating university.

‘Material Culture: Textiles’ is a cultural studies degree programme. We deal with everyday objects - from very different perspectives: approaches from empirical cultural studies and cultural mediation are central, enriched by design or scientific-technical approaches. One focus is on textiles, especially clothing in the field of tension between material culture, the body, media, design and sustainability.

Further information can be found on the website of the University of Oldenburg.
