At the time of its 30th birthday, the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) at the University of Bremen is still completely working to capacity and heading towards its 9,000th experiment in zero gravity. Today, the Drop Tower is the place to go for research in zero gravity and is setting the international standard for experiment quality and length in earthbound research laboratories.
Open Day Postponed
Originally, an open day had been planned to celebrate the birthday. However, due to the corona situation, the day has been postponed until next year. Yet there is still the chance to experience ZARM and Bremen’s Drop Tower digitally on the ZARM Twitter account during the jubilee week. Throughout the week, the account will take a look at the past, present, and the future.
In September 2021, the Drop Tower’s birthday will be celebrated as part of the 50th birthday of the University of Bremen: The OPEN ZARM event will not only present the Drop Tower, but rather all exciting ZARM research topics on space travel will be covered during an open day.
