Study description

Computer science is about algorithmic information processing by computers. An algorithm is a problem-solving rule that is formulated so precisely that it can be executed by a computer. Computer science solutions are used in many areas of everyday life.

Computer science is divided into practical, technical, applied and theoretical computer science. While practical computer science focuses on software solutions, technical computer science deals with the functioning of the computer itself, among other things. Applied computer science deals, for example, with the interface between humans and computers and with the applications of computer science in other disciplines. Theoretical computer science establishes a close link between mathematics and the aforementioned fields.

A specialty of Computer Science in Bremen is the Bachelor's project, where topics of practical relevance are worked on intensively in groups over a longer period of time.
